What we collect, and who else sees it.
StackMart handles personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This page says plainly what we collect and where it goes.

Who we are
StackMart, ABN 83 702 019 896. Privacy questions go to sales@stackmart.com.au or 03 9124 4699.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery addresses, and what you bought.
- When you apply for a trade account: your ABN, trading name, and business contact details.
- When you contact us: whatever you put in the form, email or phone call, including any order or invoice reference.
- When you subscribe: your email address.
- When you use our AI chat assistant or phone receptionist: what you tell it, which may include your name, phone number, email address and the details of your enquiry. Phone calls are recorded and transcribed.
- Automatically: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and cookie identifiers.
We do not collect payment card numbers. Card payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and do not pass through or get stored on our systems.
Why we collect it
To take and fulfil your order, arrange delivery or pickup, issue tax invoices, handle warranty and returns, answer your questions, assess trade account applications, meet our tax and record-keeping obligations, protect the site from fraud and abuse, and — only if you have asked for it — send you marketing.
Who we share it with
Most of what we sell ships directly from our distributors’ warehouses. To fulfil your order we pass your name, delivery address and contact details to the relevant distributor and to the carrier. This is how the goods reach you, and there is no way to buy from us without it happening.
Beyond that, we share personal information with:
- Carriers and freight companies, so they can deliver and so you can track.
- Our email delivery provider, so order confirmations and invoices reach you.
- Mailchimp, if you subscribe to our mailing list.
- HubSpot, which powers forms, chat and marketing analytics on this site.
- Our hosting and backup providers, who store the site and its database.
- A payment provider, once online payment is enabled.
- Professional advisers and government agencies, where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not disclose it for anyone else’s marketing.
AI assistants
Our website chat assistant and our phone receptionist, Elara, are AI assistants. We use what you tell them to answer your enquiry, pass messages to our team, email you information you ask for, and check and improve our service. Phone calls are recorded and transcribed. Call recordings, transcripts and chat messages are processed on our behalf by Anthropic (AI) and ElevenLabs (voice), which may store them in the United States, and are kept only as long as we need them for these purposes. See our AI Assistant Terms of Use.
Information sent overseas
Some of the services above store data outside Australia. Mailchimp and HubSpot are based in the United States, and information you give through a form, a chat window or a newsletter signup may be stored there. By using those features you consent to that disclosure. We take reasonable steps to use providers with appropriate protections, but overseas recipients may not be subject to Australian privacy law.
Cookies
This site uses cookies to keep your cart and session working, to remember preferences, and — with your consent — for analytics and marketing. You will see a consent banner on your first visit and can change your choice at any time from that banner.
Essential cookies cannot be switched off without breaking the cart and checkout. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser, though parts of the site will stop working.
Marketing, and how to stop it
We only send marketing email to people who have asked for it. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and it works. You can also email us and we will remove you. Transactional messages about an order you have placed are not marketing and will still be sent.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, access to customer data is limited to people who need it, login attempts are rate-limited, and the site is backed up. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the internet.
How long we keep it
Order and invoice records are kept for at least five years to meet Australian tax record-keeping requirements. Marketing subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Enquiries that do not become orders are kept only as long as they are useful, then deleted.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Email sales@stackmart.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time, and we may need to verify who you are first.
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, tell us and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when our practices change. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
Want your data, or want it gone?
Ask us. We would rather deal with it directly than have you wonder.
